No more "Can you send that photo again?" | When you upload to Babyfolio, every family member can download it themselves.

When you upload your baby's photos to Babyfolio, invited family members can view them, and if you enable download permissions, they can save them directly. We've put together a guide on individual downloads (free) versus full album downloads (paid), saved image quality, and tips for backing up your original files.

When you send baby photos to your family, you often get a request a few days later: "Could you send me that picture again?" Finding and resending the same photo through KakaoTalk or LINE can be quite a chore.

In Babyfolio, families can handle this on their own. Once you upload a photo, invited family members can view it whenever they like, and if you allow downloads, they can save their favorite shots directly to their own phones. Parents no longer have to resend the same files over and over. Here is a quick guide on how photos are shared and downloaded.

Upload once, let family view and download anytime

When you upload to Babyfolio, all invited family members can see your baby’s photos and videos from their own phones. Even grandparents living far away can peek into their grandchild’s daily life as it happens.

Furthermore, if the administrator enables download permissions, family members can save the photos or videos they love directly to their devices. Since Grandma and Grandpa can save photos to their own galleries themselves, it naturally reduces the number of times parents hear, "Send me that photo again."

In short, instead of sending photos individually every time, you upload them in one place for the family to see and take what they need. Please note that an administrator must turn on the download permission for this to work. Read on to see how to download.

Download specific photos (Free)

If you only want to save a few favorite photos, use the individual download feature. Select the date you want from the calendar, choose the photo, and tap the download button at the bottom to download the file for free.

If you don’t see the download button, ask the album administrator to check if the download permission is turned on. This permission must be enabled for family members to save photos individually.

Download everything at once (Paid)

If there are too many photos to download one by one, you can use the Bulk Download service. Go to View All at the top of the main screen → Bulk Download, or My Page → Download all photos via email to receive photos from specific months all at once.

Bulk Download is a paid service that offers these conveniences:

  • Download all photos from your desired months at once
  • Receive a zip file organized by month via email
  • Download up to 3 times within 15 days of purchase
  • Files are automatically named by the photo's shooting date

This is perfect for organizing years of baby photos at once, especially when you get a new phone or want to keep a separate collection of family photos.

Upload as much as you want, retrieve anytime

For the family to download freely, you first need to be able to upload without worry. On Babyfolio, you can upload unlimited photos and videos regardless of whether you are on a free or paid plan. You don't have to pick and choose due to lack of storage space—just capture every moment you want to keep and download them back whenever you need.

Since uploaded photos are organized by the date they were taken, it’s easy to find and download photos from a specific period later on. You can follow your baby's growth journey and see exactly how they looked at just a few days old or a few months old.

Quality of downloaded photos

It’s good to know the quality you’ll receive. Photos and videos uploaded to Babyfolio are optimized and stored in "Standard Quality." While we do not store the original raw files exactly as they were shot, the quality is more than enough for family viewing or creating goods like photo books, prints, and calendars. Downloaded files will reflect this optimized quality.

Because every file has a different size, the level of optimization may vary. We try to keep metadata (shooting info) intact, but values like resolution or bitrate may be adjusted during the upload process.

As a side note, if the person who uploaded the photo hasn't edited it and the original file still exists on their device, Babyfolio may display the original photo on that specific device to save data. This is why the same photo might look sharper on your phone compared to other family members' phones or the downloaded file.

Back up original files separately

If you have photos that absolutely require the original full resolution, we recommend backing them up separately to your phone's storage, a cloud service, or an external drive. Use Babyfolio to upload unlimited photos you want to share with your family and keep them organized by growth stage, then use the individual or bulk download features when needed. Keeping originals safe elsewhere while sharing the joy on Babyfolio provides the best of both worlds.

Reduce the burden of deleting photos or resending them repeatedly, and capture more of the moments you want to remember. Even as your baby's photos grow into the thousands, uploading them to Babyfolio ensures the whole family can enjoy them together and save them whenever they like.
